Gillian Holt is an English born fine artist filmmaker.
While studying for a fine art degree in england she developed a passion for filmmaking. Later she moved to Berlin Germany to continue her studies. She has worked on both her own projects and also with others, gaining considerable experience of independent short film, music video, documentary and commercial. A skilled camera operator and DOP she is equally at home recording sound or lighting a set. As well as being a talented atrist, thanks to her previous experience as a qualified electronics/electrical engineer she is also in a first class position to understand and exploit the technical side of filmmaking. A strong interest in philosophy, feminism and gender studies are among the factors that drive her own extensive and varied body of works.
She has exhibited in major public exhibitions in England and in Continental Europe, has had her work screened at numerous film festivals, has won international competitions and awards, and has works in several private collections.
Currently she is working on another major short film project and also organizing and participating in several international exhibitions. She lives and works in Germany and in England.
